Province VIII Grant Cycle
Application
Spring 2026
Dioceses, parishes, and Episcopal organizations operating in Province VIII are invited to apply for grants from the Province. There are two types of grants:
1) Major Grants of $3,000 to $20,000 and
2) Minor Grants of less than $3,000.
There will be both a Spring and a Fall grant cycle for major grants. Minor grants are awarded on a rotating cycle as they are received. This grant application may be used for either major or minor grants. Please include any deadlines for needed funding in your application.
The deadline for submitting major grant applications for this cycle is Friday, April 10, 2026. The grants committee is open to virtually any focus for a grant application, with special emphasis on Micah 6:8: “Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with God.” We are also focused on efforts that involve more than one diocese, as single-diocese efforts should be funded by that diocese. The more dioceses, the better! Grantees must either be incorporated or have a fiscal sponsor who can hold the funds for them. A single diocese may be such a sponsor.
To be approved, grant applications must include a letter of support from a diocesan bishop or an officer of Province VIII. Grant applications must also include a budget for the project, including sources of any other funding. Please also include a desired date by which funding is needed. Major grants from this cycle will be awarded no later than May 1, 2026. In evaluating grant applications, the committee will consider certain criteria:
-
Efforts to involve members from multiple dioceses.
-
Efforts to ensure diversity and inclusion, particularly racial and ethnic diversity;
-
Long-term financial sustainability of the project, if it is intended to continue into the future.
