The mission of this Province Network is to promote Jesus’ healing through ministries of health and healing in body, mind, and spirit in dioceses and the congregations they serve.
Activities to Date for the Network
Several dioceses have plans to use Living Compass (An Episcopal Wellness Initiative) Advent Meditation booklets for small group and individual studies.For more information, visit www.livingcompass.org.
Supported by a grant from the Clinton Global Initiative, the Diocese of Northern California continues to provide workshops and resources for “Knowing Opioids: Empowering People of Faith.”In addition, training and distribution of supplies for Narcan and fentanyl test strips will be available for individual and church use. An exhibit will be featured at the Diocesan Convention in November.
Workshops are provided for training Healing Ministries for Healing Services in congregations.
In planning: a webinar on Listening: To God and Each Other by the Episcopal Spiritual Directors of the Diocese of Northern California.
The Diocese of Northern California Partners in Healing and Health are collaborating with the Commission on Intercultural Ministries to provide first aid for a pilgrimage to the Tule Lake Memorial of the former Japanese Internment Camp.
Continued support for the development of Healing & Health Ministries in the Diocese of Idaho.
Province VIII has mini-grants (up to $500) available for healing and health projects. This fund is made possible in memoriam of Beverly Bennett, R.N., a former Network Coordinator.
