Province VIII Quarterly Meeting – May 15, 2025

Attendance:

Minutes: Minutes from February 27, 2025, were reviewed. Members were asked to review them online and submit any changes or additions.

Treasurer’s Report

Province VIII currently holds $180K in cash and is in a strong financial position. Spending has been minimal this year.
Health and Healing Ministries, Altar Guild, and Creation Ministries still have funds remaining to spend.
Approximately $34K was collected from the dioceses, a significant increase from the $4K collected at this time last year.

President’s Report

Communications Update

Steve Welch was hired as the Province VIII Communications Coordinator.
He is currently working on the startup of the Province website.

Grants Committee

Jeff Martinhauk reported no updates at this time.

Executive Council

Mark Lattime noted that the realignment process is ongoing. More updates are expected from the PB’s office regarding strategies to move away from centralism and better support diocesan work. The next meeting is scheduled for the end of June.
Timothy Gee serves on the Executive Committee of the Executive Council.
Tom Poynor highlighted that campus ministries are often overlooked at both national and diocesan levels.

Madeline Sampson noted that she had accidentally included Shelly Carlson’s name in her report.

Other Items

Upcoming events include an Episcopal Migration Ministries event.
