President’s Report May 2026
All are welcome!
This is a safe place where ideas, suggestions, concerns are encouraged and most importantly we want, we NEED to hear from you. Throughout Province VIII, the diversity of ministries reflects our vast geographical area, different cultures, varied socio-economic status, needs and gifts. This is celebrated, as we practice sharing and communication, as the power, strength and courage of the Holy Spirit grows within each of us, providing the common tie that weaves us together, building a strong foundation of unconditional love while living the Word.
So many things today are different, politically, environmentally, and economically, reminding us to be adaptable as we live into Jesus’s teachings and follow his model. Our province made a commitment to expand communications as we adapt to ever changing resources, believing that by sharing our stories we can indeed lift up others throughout the wider church. This task is not the responsibility of a singular person, rather it requires each of us to contribute, support, offer suggestions, dream and shine a light on our growing communications process. Thank you for being a key participant in helping us to achieve this goal.
Attending quarterly meetings for Provincial leadership continues to broaden my understanding of the wider church and various needs and challenges across the church. There is a lot of passion for ministry and God’s work. These meetings reinforce the importance of communications as a foundational component of our ministry.
It was an honor to attend the consecration of The Right Reverend Greg Kimura, Diocese of San Joaquin in April. I look forward to attending the consecration of the Bishop of Los Angeles, The Rev Antonio Gallardo in July. The opportunity to meet faithful siblings in these Dioceses, offers face to face, visible witness that we are here to lift up, support and celebrate their ministries, that siblings in Christ surround them helping make the journey less exhaustive, spirit filled, and generative. Hawaii elected the Rev Elizabeth Berman as their next bishop, Navajoland and Taiwan continue in their bishop search process. Prayers continue for all in these transitional times.
